The challenge
Holbæk Municipality is working to become one of Denmark’s most climate-friendly municipalities, with a target of reducing CO₂ emissions by 70% by 2030. Achieving this requires concrete action across the municipality’s building portfolio, including schools such as Jyderup School, where solar panels had already been installed. The next step was to ensure that the renewable electricity generated could be utilised as effectively as possible rather than being wasted.
The solution
With the installation of a VisBlue flow battery, Jyderup School can now store solar energy for use when it is needed most, for example, in the evenings or on cloudy days. This increases the school’s utilisation of its own solar power, reduces CO₂ emissions, and ensures that a much larger share of its renewable energy is used locally.

The result
