VisBlue will supply eight battery plants to the housing associations at Lille Birkholm I & II in Herlev. At VisBlue, we are looking forward to this collaboration as we will equip Lille Birkholm with a green solution to their problem.
As solar and wind energy are increasingly becoming more popular, a problem seems to surface; how are we supposed to administer the surplus of generated energy that is “wasted”?
This is where the VisBlue battery solutions emerge. By linking a VisBlue battery to a source of energy, it becomes possible to effectively store energy, produced during the day, so that it may be used during the evening or some other time where there is no sun.
"We see this project as a showcase that can illustrate to other housing associations that a more affordable and environmentally friendly energy solution can be done."
- Søren Bødker, CEO
Lille Birkholm is equipped with solar panels that will be connected to the eight battery components. These components will be able to store the surplus energy produced by the solar panels. Adding the battery components to the solar panels will enable the system to supply all 800 housing units in the association with power.
Subsidiary, the battery plant secures a maximum exploit of the energy produced by the solar panels. Lille Birkholm is a comprehensive system of 20 electricity sections, however, we have downscaled this system to eight battery components that each are able to supply each of the 20 sections of Lille Birkholm.
The eight VisBlue batteries have a collective size of 175 kW and a storage capacity of 540 kWh.
“This is a great opportunity for VisBlue. A battery plant, like the one we will supply Lille Birkholm with, shows that it is a cost-effective investment for housing associations to install our battery. This project showcases how environment friendly solutions can come at affordable prices.”
- Søren Bødker, CEO
VisBlue's CEO Søren Bødkerer is very positive about this development and explains the following:
"This is a great opportunity for VisBlue. A battery system, like the one that VisBlue will make for Lille Birkholm, shows that it is a good investment for larger housing associations to install our battery. We see this project as as a showcase example that can illustrate to other housing associations that a more price- and environmentally friendly energy solution is possible."
